Become more Integrated
My philosophy of counseling involves focusing not only on the current problem, but on individual strengths and building upon these strengths in order to help clients overcome their struggles. The keystone of an arch is often the final architectural piece put in place, locking all the surrounding stones into position, and allowing the arch to bear weight. Similarly, my goal is to work with you to become an integrated individual, so that you can gain the strength needed to cope with life's daily hassles, as well as life's major stressors.
My therapeutic style is mainly interpersonal with humanistic and cognitive behavioral influences. What this means is that I take a nonjudgmental approach to helping you improve your relationships, as well as understanding your thoughts and actions, in order to reduce the current symptoms you are experiencing and create lasting change.
Personally, I bring to my practice strong dedication and integrity. I am someone who approaches her work with energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. As a therapist I have been described as warm, compassionate, and challenging. I will do more than just sit and listen, I will work together with you to develop and achieve your goals. I strive to make clients feel comfortable talking with me and my hope is, after creating a trusting, therapeutic relationship, we can work together to help you find your own solutions.
